Sulak Sivaraska

"I think if we want to fight the most important American Empire, we have to cultivate peace within then we can link the heart with the head. We learn to be humble. We learn to listen to good friends and the best friend for us is the indigenous people, the people who suffer. I think they can help us empowering. Our friends are not those in the big corporation, not in the World Bank, not in the government.

New York is not our answer. London is not our answer. Our answer, in fact, is in Ladakh, here. People are poor by World Bank standard, the people are poor by the UN standard, but they are full of generosity, of humanity, of friendship. I think if we learn to change our direction, use the heart to tame head, find out the cause of suffering, and to overcome the cause of suffering nonviolently"
